Hybrid automobiles: A boon to soaring gas prices

Prices of fuel are touching record high at more then $2 per gallon. It is quiet natural to feel a pinch in your purse due to low mileage and soaring prices. There is no sign of prices going down in near future. It seem that it is just the beginning. Crude oil prices are high, same is with refinery costs, and there is a constant increase in demand. So, what one should do in these situations.

Hybrid automobiles are a boon at these difficult times. Every automaker is coming up with their line of clean, fuel efficient and high mileage cars. In the near future, whole new range of full Hybrid automobiles and partial Hybrid automobiles will be available in the market. These cars would certainly have better fuel mileage that would lead to less pollution.

Today you have whole range of hybrid cars from Ford, Honda, and Toyota in the market. Few companies like GM have also unveiled their fuel cell cars and there is a huge advancement in development of hydrogen cars. In addition to all this, Ford has come up with zero pollution 3CC hybrid cars.

As of now, hybrid cars with electric engine and batteries are the most practical solution to soaring gas prices

There was a TV spot on these a week or so ago about why they are not getting the high mileage they claim to get. I didn't get to watch; does anyone know what they had to say.

I drove a Prius this summer and I wasn't too impressed on the gas mileage. It's supposed to get 50+ mpg but the display screen showed I was getting around 30 mpg. It was a first generation prius so maybe things have changed.

I have a 2005 and, although I dont get the 65mph posted for city, I do gte an average of 50-52mpg mixed highway and around town. I dont really drive slow or easy on it either.
I do know the older Prius' do not get the same MPGs as the new ones.

my parents just bought a toyota prius a couple of months ago. Its averaging 52 mpg in the city and 44 mpg highway. I was sceptical at first, but I will definetly by a hybrid in the future with out a doubt.

Help me Dude, I think I'm lost.

I was searching for Elvis and somehow ended up in your blog, but you know I'm sure I saw him in a car lot yesterday, which is really strange because the last time I saw him was in the supermarket.

No honest really, he was right there in front of me, next to the steaks singing "Love me Tender".

He said to me (his lip was only slightly curled) "Boy, you need to get yourself a shiny, new lcd tv to go with that blue suede sofa of yours.

But Elvis said I, In the Ghetto nobody has a lcd tv .

Dude I'm All Shook Up said Elvis. I think I'll have me another cheeseburger.

Then I'm gonna go round and see Michael Jackson and we're gonna watch that waaaay cool surfing scene in Apocalypse Now on the lcdtv in the back of my Hummer.

And then he just walked out of the supermarket singing. . .

"You give me love and consolation,
You give me strength to carry on "

Strange day or what? :-)
